Passage of a new bill could give you more options outside the dealership for car repair.

The "Right to Repair Act" says that car manufacturers will give small businesses equal access to tools, software and safety alerts required to repair today's high-tech cars.

"The communication between our computers and the manufacturer computers will only go so far, and it needs the software," said garage owner Pam Oakes."
